THE CLASSIC METHOD FORGED BY ETNA
GAUDENSIUS ROSÉ
Etna D.O.C. Brut Classic Method
Nerello Mascalese
It discloses light in Sicily, where pink takes on almost transparent shades. Gaudensius Rosé is a classic method due to the distinctive uniqueness brought as a dowry from a selected collection of Nerello Mascalese grapes, growing the Cavanera estate on Etna, in the Verzella district. A classic method of refined olfactory texture. The fragrances of red fruit and raspberries are exquisite and very pleasant, which on the palate impart fresh, caressing sensations like the delicate but persistent perlage of this bottle forged by Etna.

Gaudensius Rosé
Federico Lombardo di Monte Iato, Marketing & Communications Manager of Firriato, tells us about the Gaudensius Rosé sparkling wine, the classic method forged by Etna.
It is a rosé with a fine and delicate perlage, coming from Nerello Mascalese, the native red grape variety of Etna which is the main ingredient for the classic Etna method sparkling wine production.
THE WINE IN 3 WORDS: Creamy, structured, refined.
CURIOSITY: Gaudensius Rosé embodies the light of an aurora in Sicily, where pink takes on almost transparent shades. Gaudensius Rosé is a classic author’s method for the distinctive uniqueness brought by a selected manual harvest.

The Classic Method on Etna: Rosé
The Etnean terroir with its mesoclimate and sandy soils of volcanic origin offers the ideal conditions for breeding the Nerello Mascalese. This vine, endemic to the volcano, naturally indulges in sparkling winemaking and the classic Firriato method thanks to the high levels of malic acidity. Thanks also to a low level of anthocyanins, from which the pale red color of the wine derives, it is possible to proceed with notable results to a sparkling rosé. After the manual harvest, a soft pressing of the whole grapes is carried out, skin maceration in the press for a short time, from one to two hours. The combination of the pedoclimatic characteristics of Etna, characterized by high temperature variations between day and night, by the exposure to sunlight typical of the Mediterranean area and by the richness of the soils, contribute to the development of grapes that are characterized by intensity aromas and aromatic finesse that are enhanced with the sparkling wine. Fruity hints of high intensity of strawberry and wild berries, light floral notes, especially violet. A sparkling wine balanced, with high structure, good acidity, with an extremely prolonged aromatic persistence. A classic rosé method that stands out on the national scene for the typicality of the native variety used, able to tell a unique terroir like that of Etna.
