Robert Parker, one of the most successful wine critics at international level, in his latest rating published in The Wine Advocate, has given a high-level evaluation to two of the most authentic expressions of Etna’s of Firriato winery: the classic method sparkling wine Gaudensius Blanc de Blancs and Gaudensius Blanc de Noir Etna DOC, which obtained the score of 90 + and 90 respectively.
The two classic method thus consolidate the recent string of awards of excellence received by both international and national critics: the Gaudensius Blanc de Noir, in fact, had received 90 points by the American Wine Enthusiast, one of the most important international publications in the sector. On the other hand, Gaudensius Blanc de Blancs has obtained the 5 spheres from the prestigious Sparkle guide, reserved for the best Italian sparkling wines, published by Cucina & Vini.
Gaudenius Blanc de Noir, vinified from Nerello Mascalese grapes, is a sparkling wine with a refined, subtle, continuous and persistent perlage; in the glass, it is recognized for its colors tending to the bright gold, and for its elegant and complex taste. The Gaudenius Blanc de Blancs, on the other hand, represents the perfect synthesis between two different terroirs belonging to the same island: this classic method was born from the blend between the Carricante grapes of Cavanera Etnea and those Chardonnay grown among the hills of a cru of the Borgo Guarini estate, within Trapani countryside.
