FAVIGNANA’S OWN RED WINE
VITICULTURE IN FAVIGNANA
The result of a heroic challenge
FAVINIA LE SCIABICHE, RED 2013
A wine result of the sea
Favinia Le Sciabiche is a gift from the constant synergistic action of the sea, the wind and the land. The sea has played a key role in shaping the properties of the grapes, and therefore of the wine, giving a wealth of valuable mineral components. The wind has had the task of acting as a “marine aerosol”, promoting the natural fertilisation that occurs because of the Neptune grass, and it is in these details that we find the unique aromas of this wine. The constant ventilation in the vineyard and a positive influence in the temperature range between day and night allow the grapes’ polyphenols to develop. Favinia Le Sciabiche 2013 is a sprightly wine, with an intriguing nose where plum and herbal notes emerge.
FAVIGNANA, A SEA OF EMOTIONS
The flight of the “Butterfly of the Egadi
Lapped by the warm wind from the west, Favignanaemerges from the sea with sinuous forms, a grace that inspired painter Salvatore Fiume, who referred to the island “as the Egadi butterfly.” Few miles off Trapani’s coast, Favignana condenses all the charms of Sicily, with its transparent sea, the intimate atmosphere of its village and the traditional Mediterranean architecture featuring whitewashed houses with blue or green windows. This place resounding with a long history can immediately project the visitor in a relaxed environment for a holiday full of emotions, away from the hectic daily routine.
