While in the vineyard the harvest continues, Firriato’s wines keeps being appreciated at national and international level. This is the case of the Cavanera Rovo delle Coturnie Etna DOC 2014 awarded with to the prestigious Tre Bicchieri of the Gambero Rosso , the maximum Italian recognition required by the famous guide that is about to be released with the 2019 edition.
Fruit of the mountain viticulture practiced on the northeast side of Etna, the Cavanera Rovo delle Coturnie Etna DOC 2014 was born following a vintage, still today, remembered for its exceptionally uniform, balanced climate and without excessive heat waves. A happy conjuncture that has given the best grapes from the qualitative and phytosanitary point of view, thanks to a slow and perfectly balanced maturation of the bunches.

Etna Doc wine, the Cavanera Rovo delle Coturnie Etna DOC is born from the union of the two red grape varieties belonging to this area of eastern Sicily: Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappuccio, growing in a vineyard exclusively dedicated to the birth of this label, selected vines because of the vegetative superiority of the grapes, the quality of the waters and the microclimate. A red cru that is a real jewel of the volcano, whose typically black and sandy soils are characterized by a high drainage capacity.
