In 2007, FIRRIATO added another jewel to the family-owned estates. Located in the territory of Castiglione di Sicilia, on the northeastern slope of the great volcano, the Cavanera estate consists of two large terraces covering little more than 11 hectares. Its traditional vineyard includes the main varieties grown on the volcano: Nerello Mascalese, Nerello Cappuccio and Carricante. Soils are deep, rich in skeleton and minerals. Cavanera DOC are the wines produced on the Cavanera estate.
